Our favourite broad bean. It needs no staking and can be sown in succession from March to July outside and from November to February under cover. When young the pods may be eaten whole. Plants grow up to 45cm with several stems and produces a large crop of medium length pods. s/c 40

February to April
WHERE TO SOW
Early sowings in individual pots in glasshouse or cold frame.Direct sowings in growing site, 5cm deep in double rows 20cm apart.
WHEN TO TRANSPLANT
Glasshouse seedlings should be transplanted to the growing site in March, 10cm apart in double rows 20cm apart. Outdoor sowings should be thinned to 10cm apart, the thinnings can be transplanted to make extra rows.
